Nazareth

Last night I attended novena and mass at St. Jude with Inay. Late that afternoon I felt so troubled, I’m just lost. I really love the rector’s homily. The homily that night focused on Where is our Nazareth?. The priest says that Jesus came back to Nazareth and visits a synagogue and their HE preach. And the people were amazed. He said that in our life, a Nazareth is a place where we have a deep connection. For most of us, it’s our hometown where we grew up or any place that we found ourselves comfortable. Life today is so demanding, when you have a job you always have errands to run, a deadline to meet, meetings, seminars and a lot more. Even mothers at home, their hands are full the whole day. Sometimes we cannot avoid to felt anxious because of our busy lifestyle. and somehow we want to have a little time for ourselves just to relax and feel peaceful for a while. good thing that we have a lot of massage parlor and spa’s today. But it’s not just only physical stress; we also feel the emotional and spiritual stress. When we feel all of these, we feel lost, we tend to break down or just want to quit. This is the moment that we look for our Nazareth to find the pieces of ourselves, to seek our reasons, to refocus and to start all over again. And the best of it, is sometimes the place that we consider our Nazareth, is also the Nazareth for people close to our hearts.
